I have two very high energy little boys aged 4 & 5. Since lockdown our bedtime routines have been relaxed a little and at times they’ve become overtired, which can mean high energy and/or high emotion! The Gentle Release Therapy bedtime meditation came along at a good time as I felt I wanted to bring a little bit of calm back to bedtime. So far I’ve tried it twice - once with them both together and then separately another evening. I expected a bit of giggling but that quickly stopped, and both relaxed beautifully into the meditation, followed the instructions and seemed to really enjoy the permission to relax and a way to wind down from their day. I had some beautiful and unexpected interactions, like my 4 year old saying ‘I love you’ each time he was asked a question, and using other words to describe feelings he wouldn’t normally have done. Both settled much quicker than they usually would and I think this really helps to support calmness & provide a wind-down to support sleep. A great new tool for my bedtime toolbox and a lovely gentle way to connect with my boys.
I'm a big believer in Gentle Release Therapy and have seen amazing results. My son is hyperactive and in doing the children's releases I've seen him calm and enjoy the story but gives him some time-out to just release. His favourite is the hedgehog :-) I can highly recommend the daytime and bedtime release audio tracks. It is very handy to have downloaded on my phone to use anywhere at any time needed. Helen has a very calming voice. I'm also very happy with the adult meditation sessions I've used these many times and having Skype therapy sessions with Helen have been very beneficial recently.
