Gentle Release Therapy

Becoming a Gentle Release Therapy practitioner

Qualify first, deepen as you go.

One course, together with its case studies and assessments, qualifies you to give Gentle Release Therapy treatments. Once you have your Practitioner Certificate and your insurance, you can begin seeing clients and charging for your work. The further courses are there for when you feel ready to add to what you offer, in whatever order suits you and your clients.

How we teach

A wide range of techniques, and the confidence to follow what you notice.

Gentle Release Therapy works with body, mind and spirit. You learn where to place your hands, and you learn to listen to what the body has to say.

You learn to listen

How the work is taught

You begin by following a clear protocol, so there is structure to lean on from the first day. Alongside it you learn to trust what you notice under your hands, and to let each treatment respond to the person in front of you. Intuition is a key element of Gentle Release Therapy, and we allow it to arrive gently, without pressure, with a protocol to follow when you need it.

A wide range to draw on

What practitioners come to have

The Practitioner Training gives you energy work on the chest and abdomen, cranial release, and endocrine and lymphatic release. As you add courses there are over seventy-five acupuncture points held by touch, the four vagus nerve treatments, the Spirit Points and Ghost Points, the pelvic bowl, and EnerQi Facial Rejuvenation, which takes Gentle Release Therapy and beauty to a whole other level. All of it is gentle, and none of it uses needles.

You receive the work too

In small groups

Every technique is practised in treatment swaps, so you receive each one as well as give it. Many practitioners say afterwards that the training was as much about their own release as about learning a new therapy. Groups are kept small, so each person is properly seen and supported.

No. 01 · Start here

The Practitioner Training, the course that qualifies you.

Open to qualified therapists and to those completely new to complementary therapy. The Introduction to Gentle Release Therapy course is included.

i.

Before the course

At home · at least ten hours

A pack of theory, and a video demonstration of each technique, to work through in your own time, so that the foundations are already settling when the practical days begin.

ii.

The course

Three and a quarter days · online or in Lincolnshire

You will have watched each technique demonstrated beforehand, so the days are given to treatment swaps, feedback and learning from one another's experiences. You give and receive every part of the work. Groups are small, with a maximum of eight students.

£595 on Zoom or £695 in person.
If you book from 1 January 2027, £695 and £795.

iii.

After the course

In your own time · within twelve months

Fifteen case study treatments with at least four different people, some in person and some at distance. An open-book written exam, an observed treatment, and a short project on a health topic that matters to you. The observed treatment is done in person on the in-person courses, and if you train on Zoom you send me a video.

Attending the course is the first part. You qualify once your case studies, exam, observed treatment and project are complete and have been marked, and you hold a Level 3 Certificate in Anatomy and Physiology. You don't need the Anatomy and Physiology before the course, so if you are new to therapy you can work towards it alongside your case studies.

Once you are qualified

You can begin seeing clients.

Once your case studies and assessments are complete, you have your Practitioner Certificate, and your insurance is in place, you can offer Gentle Release Therapy treatments professionally and charge for them, in person and at distance. None of the further courses is needed first.

Some of the people you treat for your case studies may choose to carry on with you afterwards, or mention you to friends and family.

The Practitioner Community →

Insurance.

If you already hold a Level 3 in massage, aromatherapy, reflexology or complementary therapies, the Federation of Holistic Therapists can insure you. If Gentle Release Therapy is your first therapy, insurance is available through ThinkTree and FOYHT.

You won't do this alone.

The Practitioner Community is open to you from your student days onwards, in three tiers. Connected, at £25 a year, is your listing in the practitioner directory. Supported, at £45 a year, adds monthly Guided Gentle Release sessions, Build My Business workshops, co-working mornings and quarterly Lecture Days. Seen, at £60 a year, adds help with your wording and marketing.

None of these is needed to practise, and you can take them as soon as you have attended the Practitioner Training. Each one adds something for particular clients, and most practitioners spend a year or two settling into the core work first.
