Gentle Release Therapy

Training

Seven courses, all working with body, mind and spirit. The teaching reflects the work itself: without force, without urgency, and at a pace that lets the learning settle. Some people come here for themselves and their families and find that is enough. Others move through to qualification and beyond. There is a way in here that meets you where you are.

Spirit Points

£145 One day · online or in person

The 12 Spirit Acupuncture Points sit at the older, quieter end of Chinese medicine, a small group of points held to work with the Shen, or spirit, the layer of a person that feels at depth and senses its own direction. Taught through a Traditional Chinese Medicine framework, the work is needle-free and uses intuitive touch. People often describe feeling lighter, clearer, and a little nearer to whatever they sense their own path to be. Open to therapists from any background, not only Gentle Release practitioners. Prerequisite is the Introduction to Gentle Release Therapy course or the Practitioner Training. Healthcare professionals and qualified therapists can practise the work with clients; others are welcome to take it for personal development.

Accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and Thinktree.

Advanced Practitioner Training

From £425 Three days · online or in person

Three days, online or in person at Ashlin Farm Barns. The course for practitioners who have spent some time with the work and are ready to go deeper. Acu-Touch sits at the heart of it: over seventy-five acupuncture points and prescriptions for over forty conditions, woven into the Gentle Release framework. You'll spend time on the conditions that come up most often in practice, including migraines, period problems, perimenopause and menopause. There is a substantial section on fertility, worked from physical, emotional and spiritual angles, and a strand on preparing for birth. Intuitive release work for joints, injuries and held trauma; the pelvic bowl, which has its own kind of power and creativity once you know how to work with it; and the cranial lift.

Accredited by the Association of Reflexologists.

Vagus Nerve

£375 Four days · online

Co-created and co-taught with Sara Agnew. The vagus nerve is the long, wandering tenth cranial nerve and the main pathway of the parasympathetic nervous system, the part of us that knows how to settle. When its tone is low, people can stay stuck in freeze or shutdown long after the original event has passed. The training takes you through the full four-protocol Gentle Release Vagus Nerve treatment, grounded in Polyvagal Theory: Ventral Release, Dorsal Release, the brain areas connected to vagal function, and the HPA Axis. Helen and Sara have been measuring the work using Oura Rings, Garmin watches and blood pressure data, and the treatments are equally effective in person or at distance.

Accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists and Thinktree.

EnerQi Facial Rejuvenation

From £250 One day online · or 1.5 days in person

A 90-minute facial that brings together traditional Chinese facial techniques (gua sha, jade rolling, an acu-pressure dermal roller, facial cupping, hot towels) with the cranial release and abdominal organ release that already sit at the heart of your Gentle Release training. The work is intuitive rather than protocol-driven. There is no fixed sequence and no three strokes here, ten strokes there: you learn to read what each client's face and body is asking for on the day, and to pace the treatment accordingly. For many practitioners, EnerQi becomes the way in for clients who would not have come for body-led work alone, the facial as entry point, the deeper work following once trust has formed. Plus theory elements online and ten case study treatments.

Accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists, the Complementary Therapists Association, and Thinktree.
